Every year on the 4th Sunday of March Maine celebrates a state holiday called Maple Sunday. Local sugar houses invite people out to see the process of making maple syrup. They often give samples of hot fresh maple syrup on vanilla ice cream. We have Incorporated this into a church event. We invite people to a pancake breakfast and to our church services to hear a sermon about how maple sugaring relates to Christianity. This year Bruce's Dad preached a sermon on family traditions.

Ezra loved being outside. It was sunny but bit chilly.
Ezra was trying to eat the steam from the sap boiler.

Ezra's 1st taste of maple syrup.

What neat pictures! Thanks for sharing. The boiling stove you have looks like it is made very similiarly to my parents.
